About Our Services
Estates Services brings together staff from a wide range of professions who are collectively responsible for ensuring that the buildings, grounds, and specialist systems used by County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust provide safe, comfortable, functional, efficient, and sustainable environments for our staff and patients.
Estates staff provide essential support services working in or around our buildings where patients may be. Some estates staff are directly employed by the Trust through Synchronicity Care Limited, and others work for companies that provide services to the Trust.
To deliver those responsibilities effectively, Estates Services employs multi-disciplinary teams including skilled and semi-skilled tradespeople (electricians, plumbers, joiners, painters/decorators), administrators, grounds trades, operations coordinators, quality management professionals, project managers, real estate managers, space planners, contract managers, engineering and building services managers.
Our teams work around the clock to ensure systems and the built environment continue to function as they should, and that Trust buildings fulfil their intended purposes.
