By way of introduction my name is Julie Warnett. I joined Synchronicity Care Limited in November 2024 as Associate Director of Procurement and I am based at The Centre for Health at Peterlee.

Tell us about your career history and how you came to work for us

I have over 35 years’ experience in multi-site Procurement and Materials Management environments, with hands on management experience in tendering, transactional and materials/inventory settings.

I started my career as an assembly operator for Electrolux in Spennymoor in 1984, securing a role of Good Inwards Clerk in the Inventory and Stores department, progressing into the Materials Management and Purchasing Team.

I studied for my Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply CIPS accreditation in 2003.  Whilst working full-time, I continued to study and in 2009 I obtained my degree in Management, Business and Administration.

Moving into Public Sector, I gained extensive experience working for a Local Authority, College and a Transport Authority.  I have worked on a number of high profile procurement projects in Private, Public and Educational Sectors.

Tell us about your role – what do you do?

I lead the Procurement Team ensuring a strong service for procurement, purchasing, inventory and materials management, systems and information.

What’s the most challenging part of your job?

One of the most challenging parts of my role involves rigorous compliance needs of Public Sector Regulations and Legislation.

I join the CDDFT Group SCL at what is such an exciting time of change and opportunity for Procurement within the public sector and NHS with the introduction of The Procurement Act.

The best part of my role is being able to interact with a variety of staff members at all levels across SCL and the Trust, also collaborating with other Trusts’ Procurement teams to identify, lead and implement efficiencies and change.

I am passionate about fostering openness and transparency, working together to achieve our shared visions and objectives

Why do you like working for us?
